My sister Patty and I spent an overnight at her cabin last summer. We made a paint-in for ourselves, each practicing skills on our own. It was such a pleasure to relax and concentrate uninterrupted.

My intention was to practice shadows. These are images from our travels. I took great liberties with the colors.

  1. I especially like the treatment of the foreground and also the shadows on the middle building in the Epoisses one. All the shadows make the middle one read really well. We spend too much time shadow-challenged in the NW!
