On this beautiful September Sunday, there was an impromptu sketch crawl to welcome Tommy Kane and his wife Yun to town. It was a perfect Seattle day and the turnout was great. This is when I can really appreciate having others to sketch with. The Locks were busy and friendly and we could sit and sketch in our own little world.
My very first Urban Sketchers sketchcrawl in 2009 was also a September day at the Locks. But that day was cold and wet! Here is my view of the same building - other side. I do like those Alaskan Red Cedars.
The Ballard Locks connect the salt water of Puget Sound and the fresh water of Lake Union and Lake Washington.
